'Sidewinder' showcases Killawatt's formidable production talent, blending swirling, shimmering strings and ethnopercussion with tough drums and swooping bass - taking dubstep's halfstep orthodoxy and flipping it to build a high-velocity roller. Over on the flip, Killwatt's sometime collaborator Ipman makes his vinyl debut with an irreverent rework of 'Sidewinder' - turning cruising tribal dubstep into a 140bpm jungle throwback. Oldschool tropes, frantic break edits and undulating subs lend an air of authenticity as the mid-90s are dragged forward to a post-dubstep world.
