LumièresLaNuit (alias LLN) is glad to welcome Paris-based music composer and DJ Keumel for the 9th release of the label. As a DJ, Keumel made his debut in 2011 when he joined the Parisian DJ collective Jekyll & Hyde, getting his first bookings in his hometown.?More recently, Keumel released his debut EP 7 Hours Trip (IBL04) on Inner Balance, sub imprint of Chez Damier's Balance Recordings, released in February that includes a remix by rising Italian music producer and DJ Domenico Rosa. In this way, Keumel has branded the beginning of his career has music producer. In the pipeline, or rather in the bag for some time, Night Drips is the first EP that was born from a Soundcloud establishing contact from Keumel to LumièresLaNuit. Convinced by the music, LLN then needed to be charmed by the artist's human being. Indeed, having human good relations with the artist is a sine qua non condition for bringing his music out. It was around some beers that Keumel proved himself as a discreet and easy-going artist. Night Drips EP is the story of a sunny journey getting slowly dark at nightfall. This also holds true for the changing feelings caracterising each track throughout the EP.?On the A-side, Les Marcheuses reveals a deep influence coming the straight from the other side of the Channel. UK- oriented vibe, Les Marcheuses distinguishes itself with its dynamic and lulling feminine voice cadenced by a groovy bass line. On the B-side, Night Drips – eponym track of this EP – presents a trippy drum loop enlivened with long chords making the whole smooth and hypnotic. Finally, Dawn's Delights closes the EP with a rather cloudy atmosphere underlined by atmospheric synthetiser nappes, melancholic chords and organic breakbeats.
