Second Karma remix EP comes with two killer remixes by I:Cube from the Paris based Versatile imprint (hypnotic & huuuuge) and Cologne’s Pascal Schäfer (Sin & Soul, Kalk Pets). Plus a radio edit of “Are We?” - one of the standout album tracks. Starting in the mid 90s as a club music project combining jazz with Drum’n'Bass and Downtempo soundscapes, Karma have gone in the last decade from a purlely sample based approach to a more organic, classic studio sound. Their brand new third album “Latenight Daydreaming” is a timeless masterpiece. You can take the cat out the jungle but you can’t take the jungle out the cat: although having created a classic pop album, Tom Dams and Lars Dorsch of course never lost their affinity to contemporary club music. After the first remix package by Marcus Worgull (Innervisions) and Tony Nwachukwu (Attica Blues) here comes a second 12? with great reworks form I:Cube and Pascal Schäfer aka Jazzy Pasy. I:Cube is one of the most respected French producers of sophisticated electronic music and one half of Chateau Flight with his friend and Versatile Records owner Gilb’R. Karma shares the honour of being remixed by him with people like Daft Punk, Leftfield, Joakim and Phonique just to name a few. I:Cube takes Karma on a long distance run from Paris to Lazise, setting the pace in a hypnotic slow motion stomp. Cosmic disco cubism at it’s best! On the b-side awaits you another special titbit: Cologne’s jazz connaisseur and multi instrumentalist Pascal Schäfer is given a carte blanche to do a remix and Karma won’t have to regret this. Best known for his output on the Karaoke Kalk, Pascal manages it like only a few other producers to translate jazz aesthetics and structures into electronic grooves and patterns.
