Razor-N-Tape bring out the big guns for their remix package of L.A based afro funk band Jungle Fire - capturing a slice of sunshine from a mesmerising far away land.
First up a re-edit of 'Firewalker' from RNT's very own JKriv, taking that live energy of Jungle Fire's expert instrumentation and channelling it into an exuberant, DJ friendly edit that will have that crowd moving like they're dancing on hot coals.
House music authoritarians Black Science Orchestra, then take on 'Culebro' and transform it into a afrobeat tinged groover. They bring the infectious bass to the foreground behind a shuffling rhythm and skilfully insert snippets of Jungle Fire's guitars and horn section to turn this into a serious, house heater.
On the B side, Brooklyn born, Medellin based producer Bosq steps up to tackle 'Village Hustle' bringing his unique blend of flavours to this melting pot of zesty goodness. Focussing on the rhythmic nature of the original and teasing in added percussive elements, Bosq's edit grows and grows into a joyous, feel good foot stomper.
Rounding off this standout remix e.p. Black Science Orchestra offer up a dubbed-out version of 'Culebro' complete with expansive pads, echoed guitars and that monstrous dubby bassline to create a dreamy Balearic gem of epic proportions.
