John B’s first single in over a year, the last one – “Red Sky’ got sampled by US Rap giant Nicki Minaj and was on her 2million selling album “Pink Friday”. Wahayy. This is the sampler to John B’s eagerly anticipated new album “Light Speed”, out a week after this single. Picking up on his now-trademark 80s/Electro flex this is, as the title suggests future retro electro D&B at its finest. John B’s robo voice on the vocoder “JE SUIS UN ROBOT LOVER, I DANCE LIKE A MACHINE, EROTIC, ROBOTIC”. There has also been interest from the Trance scene – DJ Mag top 100 #13 DJ, Gareth Emery has played it on his hugely popular Podcast. On the flip we have a monster of an ElectroTechno remix from Cute Heels, who we recently discovered thanks to his awesome track Silence Complot on Dave Clarke’s recent Fabric Mix Compilation. John B has nice hair, DJs a lot, his favourite airline is British Airways, and the furthest away random place he played this year was Vladivostok in Russia, which is further East than Tokyo. And unfortunately British Airways don’t fly there. His favourite retro synthesizer is the Roland JX8P, he used to have one, but his Dad sold it to Marshall Jefferson through the classifieds in Loot.
