Growing up during the wild 1990s in a squat in Berlin-Mitte, Olek Ulrich spent a lot of time playing the drums as a child. The son of a music teacher, he started his first band „Kool“ in elementary school as a singer and drummer. Other projects followed, including the metal band „Starship Driveby“. Under the stage name „Janosch Ulm“, 16-year-old Olek started playing records and made a name for himself as a DJ in the club scene. Among other venues, he also performed at Chalet and Platoon. He began producing dub-influenced house songs on the side. In 2014, Olek was signed by R.O.T as the youngest artist of this Berlin-based label. In addition to his own songs (current EP „Off“), he also releases remixes for such acts as MIA, Tangowerk and Lulu Schmidt.
