Label-head JAMES KUMO brings three original cuts to his KMusic imprint with Plan B co-founder DJ SPIDER on remix duties. Title track ‘Drifter’ kicks things off as celestial pads swell alongside rumbling sub bass and ethereal arpeggios before off-kilter synths and rugged industrial drums are presented by New York’s DJ Spider who steps up to deliver a darker and more dramatic aesthetic with his interpretation. Next, ‘Evolution’ sees Kumo utilise stereo delayed chord stabs as underpinning pads create an ethereal feel. Rounding off the package, ‘Spectro Jazz’ sees a brooding top line resonating alongside jazz-infused atmospherics and subtle background effects to create a raw, refined and hypnotic finish to the release.
