Jah Wobble was the original bass player in the greatest ever incarnation of PIL (Public Image Limited) and has subsequently recorded with everyone from Pharaoh Sanders, Can, Bill Laswell and his own group Invaders of the Heart. The first release by Jah Wobble on Pressure Sounds showcases two superb new cuts of the ‘Get Carter’ theme from the cult film of the same name - it's a re-working of the theme to this great British film which was directed by Mike Hodges and originally released in 1971. Recorded with tablas and with additional music by Clive Bell and Sylvia Hallet this is a bass heavy floor shaker that will seriously disturb your speakers!

The first release by Jah Wobble on Pressure Sounds showcases two superb new cuts of the ‘Get Carter’ theme from the cult film of the same name. The original music was written by Roy Budd and has become synonymous with Michael Caine as the character ‘Jack Carter’ on a train journey home as it plays over the opening sequence. Our release is a re-working of the theme to this great British film which was directed by Mike Hodges and originally released in 1971. We are proud to present two new heavyweight versions on a special 10" vinyl recorded by Jah Wobble especially for Pressure Sounds... thunderous new versions by one of the best bass players around. Wobble was the original bass player in the greatest ever incarnation of PIL and has subsequently recorded with everyone from Pharaoh Sanders, Can, Bill Laswell and his own group ‘Invaders of the Heart’. Recorded with tablas and with additional music by Clive Bell and Sylvia Hallet this is a bass heavy floor shaker that will seriously disturb your speakers. Wobble’s music has always followed its own light and we are delighted to have this innovative and original artist release a record with Pressure Sounds. The B side features the Cliff Brumby mix (Cliff Brumby is a character from the original film and not a house DJ!) This version was also produced by Jah Wobble. British musical ‘noir’ at its very best. As Jack Carter said "Be good and don’t trust boys".
