Two of the most iconic hip hop breakbeats to come from the legendary New York label, Salsoul Records, on one newly remastered 7-inch single. Instant Funk's "The Funk Is On," produced by Randy Muller (Brass Construction, Skyy, etc.), is not only a tough disco tune but contains one of the great old school b-boy breaks halfway through. The floor-filling classic is presented here in the full-length album version for the first time on 7-inch. Also making its debut on 7-inch is Gaz's "Sing Sing" break, a bubbly midtempo groove that has been much sampled in recent years by everyone from Wu Tang Clan to Kylie Minogue. The full break has never been available on 7-inch and is making its debut here in a DJ-friendly edit by The Undercover Brother.
