Although Russell’s original version on Side A is fantastic in itself, the stunning abstract Walter Gibbons mix on Side B is where it’s all at. With irrepressible madcap Gibbons at the helm, the track mutates into a strangely subversive dancefloor odyssey way ahead of its time which still sounds futuristic today. With a raw sparse experimental sound, this progressive sonic journey rolls along for over 10 minutes pulsating with a jazz-influenced interplay of funk-heavy bongos, stabbing synths, off-the-wall vocals and Russell’s trademark cello.
