Hugo Barritt was a promoter at London’s infamous ‘Egg’ venue, during which time he focused his attention on Robert Owen’s residency at the club. A friendship was struck up and when Hugo finally decided to leave to concentrate on production he could think of no-one better to provide the vocal’s to ‘You Are’ than the most recognisable voice in dance music, Mr Owens himself. Befitting such a wonderful coupling, Efdemin heard the track and agreed immediately to provide the remix, and a splendidly slick ride it is too, taking the merest hints of Roberts vocal whilst injecting a melodic feel for a blissed out ride through the early hours. Contrast that with high octane thrill’s of murmur regular Tom Demac’s remix - dispensing with the subtleties of the original in favour of a power house ride of beats and bass, warping Robert’s vocal into something altogether sleazier.
