Berlin's calling. Even in St. Louis, Missouri; at least if your name's Gene Siewing. The american moved to germany's capital a few years ago to pursue his music career, and the
first releases as one half of Chubby Dubz already got him massive props from the deephouse headz. Gene's a true
record collector and sample lover, and for OFF delivers four discofied and diverse classy cuts, demonstrating that
sampling can mean much more than just taking a 2-bardiscoloop and putting a groove under it. You're Not A DJ is
a cool and serious uplifting track with a clear message towards DJs who rely more on their laptops than their own skills. Luna City Express, longtime-friends of Gene and OFF, deliver an organic interpretation, adding original
organ-keys and creating a really fresh and unique mix. Whatcha Waiting On features an energetic livebass-line
garnered with some classic vox from one of Larry Levan's Paradise-Garage-favourites from back in the days, as well
as some additional vocals by Gene himself. Finally, Say Good-Bye is a slice of sadness in the sweetest disguise, a
song about unreplied love, its catchy, soulful groove will melt even a heart of stone.
