“For many years I made really light home listening electronica, so with these two tracks I wanted more of challenge” Future Beat Alliances 3rd EP for Tresor sees Matthew Puffet in a much more uncompromising frame of mind. Having spent the last months playing at his residency at Tresor alongside Vince Watson and guest Red Shape, Octave One and Psycatron you can feel the dance floor has made an impact on his musical direction “I guess it`s more of a darker approach to my sound. But still maintaining a certain amount of soul within the music, a little bit of light towards the end of the tunnel! just as the title says GREY SUMMER”
Supporters of Future Beat Alliances recent release include SLAM, Luke Solomon, Ivan Smagghe, Seth Troxler, Doc Martin, Laurent Garnier, Paul Woolford, Psycatron, Deetron, Disco Bloodbath, Josh Wink, Adam Beyer, Riton, Trevor Jackson, Will Saul, Dubfire, Danny Tenaglia, Dirt Crew, Ian Pooley, Sian and Fergie, amongst many others. Press attention has come from Resident Advisor ?this future beat sounds mighty promising,' Clash Magazine ?this is classy stuff,' and IDJ every track is a winner!' With these two new tracks Matthew Puffet wanted “to go harder and darker, to keep the recording process more exciting!” On the 11th March Future Beat Alliance warmed up for and the followed Octave One at Tresor “with such a great crowd response i new they were ready to be pressed.”
Taking in more of a classic Detroit sound, with over tones of Robert Hood both 'Grey Summer' and Regurgitate' are pure dance floor moments destined to light up the summer days ahead. With an “Album for Tresor penned for this year” this is a good indication of what to expect. In Matthews own words, “with many more gigs at the club and beyond, 2011's plan is to keep writing new material
and trying to push my sound forward as much as possible.”
