World famous producer and DJ Theo Parrish and his own Sound Signature have become buy-on-sight name and label for even the most discriminating DJs and fans. Keeping subtle, complex, emotional deep house on the map for the past two decades, he has developed his style while maintaining a singular aesthetic. On Side A Theos trademark sound is in full widescreen glory here with blissful production and Bertramis recurring key melodies as the Detroit bass and samples come to the fore. An addictive relaxed mix Parrishs Far Out debut is a late-contender for deep house track of 2011.
On the B-side is an exciting up-and-coming name from Serbia, the production duo Kompleks. Their unique brand of soulful deep, dark house has attracted heavy BBC Radio 1 support from Benji B and a large following in Europe. Here their remix perfectly complements the deep house master Theos SS translation mix.
Joe Davis (label founder) created the Monster Disco Orchestra alongside long-time Far Out producers David Brinkworth (Harmonic 313) and Daniel Venom Maunick (son of Bluey Incognito). Keep Believing (Can You Feel It) is written by Far Out founder Joe Davis and Azymuth keyboard maestro Jose Roberto Bertrami and the stunning, soulful vocals and additional lyrics are provided by Marcina Arnold. The original track was recorded in Brazil with the Monster Disco Orchestra led by Azymuths Jose Roberto Bertrami, arranged by Arthur Verocai and with Rios finest musicians and hugely talented string section it is supersized disco like youve never heard before remixed by a true great & exciting new producing talent.
I grew up around soul and black music and when I started buying records at 12 years old, disco and funk was really taking off in the UK. The reason for making this record was my continued attachment to soul and black music alongside Brazilian music, which is so important to me and ultimately the basis of Far Out. Joe Davis
