Glitterbeat doesn’t release many 12” singles (this is the second), but this two-song beauty is so good we couldn’t pass up the chance to put it out. El Leopardo brilliantly morph urban dub textures together with sparse Colombian percussion, spoken incantations and deep, hypnotic bass. Produced by Dani Boom (Systema Solar) and Felipe Alvarez (from Bogota’s Polen Records), the tracks feature percussionist Juan Carlos Puello ('El Chongo’). The Aside, “El Leopardo,” is inspired by a poem from the acclaimed Colombian poet Raúl Gómez Jattin.
