Following up their ..Henry 85.. 12? on Aus sister-label, Simple, in mid-2012, Dusky re-emerge with another four-track EP, marking their first release of the new year. Having only broken onto the scene in late 2011 with their debut album, Stick By This, the profile of dynac duo Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman has continued to rise considerably through a series of strong EPs and remixes for artists including Justin Martin and Hot Chip. Their distinctive brand of off-kilter and purposefully cross-pollinated house-garage-techno has been championed by everyone from Seth Troxler to Loefah to Pete Tong to Paul Woolford. On AUS1345, the pair demonstrate exactly why they have garnered such widespread support. Their masterful weaving of subtle, slow rising vocal clips with penetrating basslines and scattered percussion can be approached, adapted and appreciated by any dancefloor.
