Israeli Double Hill makes his debut on Double Standard records, the vinyl only imprint from Gadi Mizrahi of Wolf + Lamb, with the free-thinking Wanna Get EP. The soothing blues of Purple Hills opens this delicious package of divine house music. Luscious panpipes glide over soft saxophones and whispered tones in this laidback and sincere record made to play in the sunshine. Title track Wanna Get sticks at the same tempo, spiced up with chiming bells and waves of cascading sound, and falling away through lavish breakdowns. Everytime I Go is featured on the forthcoming Wolf + Lamb vs Soul Clap DJ Kicks episode for !K7 Records. A stand up record that breathes with the heavy kicks of hip hop and converts with an array of sparkling sounds, this grand record introduces Double Hill as a true artist to watch. Completing this collection is Body Motion is a deeper and more rhythmic record wrapped in string symphonies and intoxicating stabs. Double Hill hails from Israel and in a similar vein to the Wolf + Lamb crew, creates music with a mixture of house, disco, funk, hip hop and music from the 80s and 90s. The suburb he lives in now, called in Hebrew Givatayim", meaning in English two hills is also the place he started to make music giving him this apt name. Taking his own approach to music production from the age of 16, the road to total addiction was very short as music quickly become the main part of his life. After 3 yearsof travelling in Asia, on his return to Israel he decided to go deeper into the spiritual life and moved to a Hasidic yeshiva in the north of Israel, once again dedicating his free time to making music. Atthe end of 2009, he moved back to the small suburb near Tel Aviv and further developed his musical side and studio full of old vintage machines. This is his rst release for Double Standard but it most likely wont be the last.
