"Logos" is the lead single from our forthcoming & first full length LP on International Anthem Recording Co. This galluping, heavy psychedelic Afro-Latin track was for-the-most-part recorded in the gallery of International Anthem's Southside Chicago HQ, Co-Prosperity Sphere. But the track also features the horn section of legendary Afro-beat revivalists Antibalas (arranged by International Anthem's Nick Mazzarella), recorded when they were in Chicago to play at Thalia Hall. To make it happen we organized a quick 2-hour pop-up session across the street from the venue at 606 Records, and dubbed the horns between Antibalas's sound check and showtime. Lyrically, Dos Santos' singer Alex Chavez delivers an imperative for "logos" (in the ancient Greek sense of the word, referring to "reason") in the tune's powerful chant chorus, challenging/inviting us to level with him: cuéntame en palabras que aún conozco mírame los ojos, háblame a el oído de lugares concurridos, de tiempos, amores, líos (tell me in words that I, too, speak look into my eyes, talk into my ear of bustling places, of time(s), of love(s), of trouble(s)) A Logos B ¿Cómo?
