DJ SPORTY JACK's approach is straightforward and minimalist, just like the electronic sound produced. The pieces were recorded live in the studio with only a few devices – mainly a drum machine, a phrase synthesizer, and a loop recorder, as well as vocals and rarely electric guitar and bass synthesizer. Similar to SPORTY JESUS, the influence of No Wave, Post-Punk, and various forms of electronic and experimental music from the late 1970s and early 1980s is unmistakable. The tracks fluctuate between uniform, repetitive, groovy rhythmic elements and a pop-influenced song structure created by the vocals. In the lyrics, Matthias Mayer processes personal experiences with a view of himself and the world. The mastering was done by Cem Oral (JAMMIN MASTERS). The layout of the cover and labels for "New Album Out" as well as only the labels for "Take Me Out" (Generic Black Sleeve) were done by Johanna Siebein (Laucke Siebein).
