Diamond Version craft music that’s somehow simultaneously futuristic and archaic. On the surface, its static effervescence and mechanistic precision evoke the march of technology and the sinister detachment of late capitalist society. But it affects listeners on a more instinctive level, interfacing directly with the nervous system and rendering the polyphonic chatter of the body’s impulses crisp and cold. There’s something oddly permanent about they rhythms they unearth, as though they’re simply tapping into a deeper pulse that’s always been present within their circuitry. Diamond Version is a collaborative project between two of the most groundbreaking, experimental and forward thinking operators in modern music, Olaf Bender and Carsten Nicolai.
