Macabre Unit Digital makes it’s third foray into the world of the vinyl press in the shape of MUV003. Unit commander Demon takes
one side, fresh from his numero uno “Boneyard EP” on MUD, and colab with Biome on MUV002, and the ever present DCult holds it
down on the flip, having featured on the first MUV press.
Demon kicks off with Frostbite, eerily shuffling into earshot, creating a threatening sense of anticipation with moody tones and teases
of weight sneaking out amongst restrained drums. It snaps into the type of face-pulling neck-snapper Demon is reknowned for,
electrifying stabs and growls sitting around precise, clean percussion, whilst being powered along by a juggernaut of a sub
undercurrent.
DCult's offering sounds like armaggedon, haunting and tentative from the off, before an injection of post-apocalyptic snarls add a
sinister hint of what is to come. Sliver kicks into action, eastern vocals rise as the snarls dart in, each time with more brutal intensity,
as the percussion marches forward, before breaking into an almost tribal vibe over driving low end weight. Macabre sounds!
