The new Berlin imprint, owned and operated by techno veteran Tim Xavier, that strives to bring like-minded techno producers together to explore the tough yet sexier side of track production. Deepchild, the talented and highly sought after live performer & producer kicks off the inaugural release with an innovative EP entitled 'Haitian Rum Runner.' The title track comes complete with precise drum-work, sleekly flanged double time percussion and an epic effective vocal describing the brutal task of being a Haitian Rum Runner. On the flip, Deepchild delivers "Brutal Sea Shanty" a bass fuelled floor packer with nicely interwoven synth stabs and smooth female vocal touches. On remix duties, Tim Xavier adds a clever a'capella edit' for the tooly types on the A side, while JSTX (the duo of Jamaica Suk & Tim Xavier) remix 'Haitian Rum Runner' for a version perfectly pointed towards the cavernous Berghain main floor and those intimidating speaker stacks. For those fans of the digital realm, 'Items & Things' Miro Pajic provides a remix stripping down the techno and pushing things into a slightly housier direction. While it's often difficult to capture the exact idea and direction a label plans to go, the premier release on Face To Face has shown confident marks in the path we're prepared to pave - the combination of fresh ideas, interesting producers and quality music designed to move the feet and the minds of those who love forward thinking music.
