Since the 1970s DC La Rues music has been an inspiration to many in the disco, hip hop and house music fraternities and his tracks have been heavily sampled and re-edited by DJ legends like Greg Wilson. The Reworks series is all about rediscovering the amazing output of this legendary disco artist and allowing contemporary DJs and producers who have been influenced by his music the opportunity to rework some of his originals placing them right back into the heart of the dance music scene they helped to inspire in the first place. For number one in the series we bring together two heavyweights of the current disco edits and house music scenes, Pete Herbert and The Revenge. Both of these highly talented DJ producers not only re-edit, but totally rework DCs originals into amazing, fresh new versions that are made to work the dance floor and relight that fire. Pete Herberts rendering of the wonderful Let Them Dance is 100% disco dynamite that will appeal to both disco and house heads. Let Them Dance was featured on DCs first LP for Casablanca Confessions and was one of his biggest selling hits, even outselling the much better known Cathedrals. Meanwhile on the flip, man of the moment The Revenge (Instruments of Rapture) deals out another one of his highly emotional, heavily dubbed out, slo-mo house rinses of Edge of The Night and produces an absolutely stunning version of this co-production between DC and legendary NY DJ/producer Adam Goldstone. Enjoy the music!
