The band has risen rapidly from local shows to main stages such as support slots for Craig Charles at various SW events leading to him tweeting "Daytoner are my new favourite band. Fact" after their Falmouth Week support show in 2017. Their first 7" singles from the album, 'Needed You' and 'Second Stomp' / 'I Get By' have proved popular with both DJs and funk and soul fans and there's been substantial radio support across the BBC, plus superlatives from various online blogs including monkeyboxing.com who awarded 'Needed You' five stars calling it "a rather enormous neo-northern soul 45".
