Since 2017’s Intimacy & Isolation, Darcy Baylis has gone through several musical metamorphoses, constantly integrating new sounds into his practice. Darcy’s sophomore album, A House Breaking, sees him weaving through genres with a distinct sense of purpose. Powerful musings on love, addiction, and the sheer danger of growing up are spotlit against a diverse musical backdrop. Breakbeats, autotune, dancehall rhythms and ambient sketches are eloquently woven together throughout the course of the album; seemingly disparate, yet meshing perfectly.
