Heavy, dirty bass driven rhythms of jacking frenzy, dark and hot, lush and electrifying.
This year, Cómeme makes a stop in Medellin (Colombia), starting with the release of Dany F's first 12" vinyl!
The "Wouhau" EP is 21 year-old Dany's outer worldly take on modern dance music in the most original of forms. Heavy, dirty bass driven rhythms of jacking frenzy, dark and hot, lush and electrifying.
Born in the city of eternal spring and growing up with the omnipresent rhythms of Reggaeton, Dany started to produce his own beats in an early age. He states he also was listening to very commercial electronics, but then started to move underground at the age of eleven.
Using platforms like Soundcloud or Bandcamp to self-releasing his music (e.g. The "Champetraxx Collection" and his album "Cumbia Bonita") Dany F has made a name for himself amongst the young Pan-American scene of tropical rhythms of today (and of the future) which travel from Perú to México, from Argentina to Colombia. These rhythms are produced by katz who grew up without the idea of recordings as a sellable products but instead to be (naturally) generously shared on the all accessible internet, spreading their music via P2P programs and social networks.
Simultaneously releasing albums, EPs, single tracks, and remixes, whilst running his show "Africa, Sur, Champeta" on Radio Cómeme, where he shares a glimpse into his seemingly endless Champeta* collection he is probably one of the most prolific artists of our time, shamefully ignored by imperialistic music press and it's colonial take on music.
(*Champeta being a Colombian phenomenon of bringing the vibes of West African music to heavily equipped sound systems called "pickós.")
After his debut Cómeme release with his underground cumbia house classic "Chalole Batata" on the intercontinental "The Power Of Now" EP, Dany F returns with his very first vinyl released solo EP. In his own words, releasing on vinyl fills him with joy as it is like "leaving a little part of you in the world."
This EP offers the 100% dance floor approved Cómeme warranty of course, and here's why:
MAGIA Is the perfect peak time soundsystem jam, that turns your local smoke machine into the fog of a jungle paradise; full of jaguars and toucans that subwoofer into legendary rainforest giants, capable of bringing down the walls of the club with their claws.
MONITOS DE LA SELVA Is Dany F's deepness at it's best. The track evolves around an ever-changing cycle of two different atmospheres; keeping you on the dance floor with acidic softness and silky snare drums, on the one hand, and a trop-E-cal rainfall on the other.
WOUHAU Is the title track, and starts with dark rough edgy Cómeme-ist beats and drones synth, swinging up via a wild tom drum to altered states of spaced out spiritual interplanetarism.
QUIERO LOVE Is a heavy, stripped down cumbia house banger with an earthquake bassline and annihilating rhythm
