Cobblestone Jazz founding member Danuel Tate is back on the solo tip with his newest project for Wagon Repair - WAG055 ‘Doesn’t Like You Back EP’ - and this time, probably as a result of spending so much time on the road with bandmates Mathew Jonson and Tyger Dhula, he’s bringing it harder. Although some familiar elements from his first EP, ‘Pushcard’, can be found in the horns and synths mixing together to form the beds for the quirky vocoder, this five-track release comes more direct.’Doesn’t Like You Back’ reflects the moment on the dance floor when you realize the woman next to you is way out of your league, which we guess isn’t a bad feeling as long as you like dancing with super hot women.
