In a year when Brazil hosts the World Cup, it's fitting that the latest release from the Rothmans label pays homage to one of their finest footballers in the shape of the Socrates EP. This sixth release also represents a shift in focus for Rothmans away from the Various Artists 12"s that have helped establish their reputation in favour of dedicated artist releases and who better to lead the way than Is It Balearic...? boys Coyote? Featuring on last years Claudio Gentile release, Coyote spread their wings here with a mixture of psychedelic disco and funky Balearic beats that would make Dr Socrates himself stand up and shake that afro all over the dancefloor. And joining them on the team sheet is a pair of specialist strikers in the form of Mark E & Ste Spandex. Mark E putting his silky skills, and attacking mark on "Passing Memories" and then Ste Spandex bringing it up the rear and joining him in attack with a live VHS remix of "Act Like You Know".
