Affectionate house grooves ranging from deep to high energy upbeat on this double 12" from Cosmic TRG!
A year after Cosmin TRG's debut release for Rush Hour, he drops his third release for the label, this time a 4-track EP, 'A Universal Crush'. Crushing it indeed is, as Cosmin really delivers the goods here! As much as we like all of his previous productions, this easily is his best material to date.
As he moves away from his dubstep/funky roots, he heads more towards 4-floor techno and house. Yet, he keeps his crisp drum programming and sharp synth lines, which makes his productions sound fresh and gives them a future feel. With this release Cosmin TRG proves that house music still can be an inspiring and amazing genre of music. This is special stuff!
Cosmin TRG is the result of constant personal re-invention, with a strong cross-genre appeal as shown by support from the likes of Apparat, Marcel Dettmann, Benji B, Gilles Peterson, Martyn, A Made Up Sound, the Arpiar collective, Shed, Deetron, Rob Da Bank or Modeselektor among others. His sound goes from updated, techno-tinged grooves to blissed-out space disco to twisted, retro-futuristic house.
An alumni of the illustrious Red Bull Music Academy Toronto 2007 and a regular in music magazines such as Mixmag, DJ Mag, iDJ, Groove, Fact Magazine, Resident Advisor or Pitchfork Media, Cosmin TRG has presented his unique take on interesting dancefloor music to clubs and festivals including Fabric, Flex, WMF, Sonar, Monegros or the notorious Paris Techno Parade. He has released on label such as Bpitch Control, Hessle Audio, Tempa, Hotflush and Rush Hour.
