No one is doing it quite like Coco Bryce at the moment. Rooted in jungle and hardcore but clearly well-read in all aspects, flavours and chapters of drum & bass, just in "Sub Lunar" alone we ride through 20 years of styles all to the gentle slapping of a skippy break. For more of the bleep-and-sub-style anarchy he's usually known for jump on "Pressure Flip" while "Drummer" takes us deep inside the drum kit where every hit, shot and slap comes in from a different space in the spectrum. Finally we hit the tropical charms of "Pina Colada" with its twisted steel drum twangs and metallic harmonics. Refreshing.
