The sixth 10-inch record from Cocoon Recordings features Brendan Gregoriy aka Chymera on the A side. The Irish-born lives in Berlin since spring 2010, before he was located in Costa Rica and Barcelona. After several well-received releases for Ovum, NRK and Delsin, the cosmopolitan has now raised the bar once again. “Pump” enchants, thanks to an LFO bassline and a steadily climactic harmony crescendo, that are emitting such incredibly positive vibes in between Detroit layers and Dub pianos that you never want to lose these magic moments of sound again. The flipside belongs to the London House modernists of Glimpse (releases for Planet E, Cadenza und Buzzin’ Fly, among others), together with Martin Dawson aka King Roc (also known as one half of the “Two Armadillos"). In “Flying Scotsmen", a dry rotating bass drum is functioning as pure kinetic energy, forcefully melting together the small sound bits in between acoustic guitar, wild pitch layers and disco strings, so that standing calmly next to the dancefloor becomes physically impossible.
