This job is always full of surprises...There we were casually wondering what happened to Andy Odia, creator of the cult classic electronica rarity SPACE DISCO EP
from '93, when up pops an email asking if we could help get a follow up (albeit 25 years later !) to our favourite stores !
We don't usually do such limited runs of vinyl, let alone CDRs, but this one is pretty special - we have less than 100 - so first come first served.
Here's a little more info...
Caution!Horses producer Andrew Odia was behind the cult electronica release, Space Disco EP (Various Artists) (BYO1). Twenty-five years have passed, during which time he has produced music in different genres, most notably as experimental sound artist Faded Alien. He even flirted with pop stardom as one half of Mancunian-Finnish electro-pop duo Roger. But in his own words, "I tried being popular, and it didn't work out." Caution!Horses sees him reconnect with his true musical self and return to his first love: making electronic music on his own terms. Music that's still inspired by Detroit techno, but produced through the filter of his two hometowns: Manchester and Sheffield. As Flux magazine described it, "Detroit electronics via Shudehill." The current album was only ever meant to be distributed amongst friends and family, but after interest from record shops in Manchester, it's now available to a wider public. "According to your Cloth" (BYO2) heralds the beginning of a new chapter of innovative music-making for Andrew Odia, with future CDr and vinyl releases to follow shortly.
