Catherine Ringer is the former singer from the famous French band “Les Rita Mitsouko” formed by Fred Chichin (her former husband) and herself. We already know their big success in France, Belgium, Switzerland… From the hit “Marcia Baila” in 1985 to their last album “Variety” in 2007, they have worked with lots of famous bands and singers such as Tony Visconti, Iggy Pop, the Sparks, Jesse Johnson, William Orbit, Serj Tankian… In 2009, Catherine decided that it was time to composed and produced her first solo album on her own. In collaboration with Mark Kerr, Azzedine Djelil and Jean-Baptiste Brunhes in her own studio (Studio Six) she recorded different instruments from piano to drums… She also reworked Rendez-vous, a track recorded in 1998 with Coba, the japanese accordion-player and adapted the “Adagietto” from Mahler. In February 2010, it’s ready, 17 dancing songs from which she will pick up 12 tracks to mix, arrange… Catherine will choose the groove master then, RZA that will accept ! They will finish the album at Paramount Studio, 10 days of arrangements, Catherine will come and go the funk guitars, soul, hip hop & the incredible John Frusciante from Red Hot Chili Peppers…. Yo !
