A1. Unrequited
B1. Spewis vs Bass Invaders - Untitled (Bracket’s UKG Remix)
B2. Damage Limitation
After the untimely passing of Ben ‘Bracket’ Brydon in April 2009, his friends got together to pay tribute to him in the most fitting way possible, by creating a not-for-profit label that showcases some of the incredible music that he made. And what music it is; Fierce, interesting and above all fun with an instantly recognizable production style. Check it…
Lead track Unrequited has been getting heavy rotation from serious players, with its mix of old-school hardcore vocal snippets and snarling, tear-out bass. Heavy breakbeat pressure from the get-go - basslines upon basslines roll in until all hell breaks loose at the drop. On the flip, Bracket’s UK Garage influences come to the fore with a remix of an untitled collaboration between Spewis and Bass Invaders. The beats swing, and when the riff comes in this track is bound for the reload! This track really sets clubs off – we’ve heard it played out and watched the dancefloor become a jacking mess of flailing limbs. Damage Limitation rounds out the EP in a steppers style, though the foot stays firmly on the accelerator. Menacing atmosphere and savage cymbals combine in an intriguing and mysterious way. This EP will be in the record bag week in week out!
