Veteran Chicagoan deep house producer Boo Williams has enjoyed a productive 2015, and here drops his fifth 12" of the year. These, though, are not new tracks, but rather vintage 2002 remixes of his 1999 deep house classic "Mars", reissued on a single-sided, limited edition 12". The first rework comes from Track Mode man Brett Dancer, who combines jazzy, fluid keys and subtle strings with a rolling, bongo-laden deep house groove. Deep 4 Life's Chris Grays provides the second rework, delivering a chunkier, dustier take built around a formidably bass-heavy rhythm track and occasional, pared-down keys. Finally, Demarkus Lewis steps up with a masteful combination of spacey, Detroit style electronics, swirling chords and funk-fuelled deep house beats.
