Following their stellar performance at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards in January 2018, BCUC present their new album, ‘EMAKHOSINI’. Recorded as one-take sessions in the summer of 2017, The band take the listener on an epic journey, sharing their controversial and intriguing views on modern Africa and tackling the harsh realities of the voiceless. Artistic heirs to Philip “Malombo” Tabane and Batsumi, they seek to give a contemporary voice to the ancestral traditions of indigenous peoples. Jazz sounds of the ‘70s and ‘80s have beenreplaced by hip-hop influences and a punk-rock energy.
