After taking a break from releases over the summer to develop the look and feel of the label, were excited to be back with some great upcoming EPs. First up is one of our own Audiojack releases. Its never easy to write about your own music objectively but in the interests of good label management well give it a go;
A1) These Days ft. Kevin Knapp (Original) Weve teamed up once again with our friend and vocalist Kevin Knapp on These Days. The lyrics are a tale of some of the changes weve experienced in the music world in the last few years. As we are interested in the story being heard weve kept the track unobtrusive whilst simple changes in the pace and energy keeps the track interesting.
A2) These Days ft. Kevin Knapp (Jimmy Edgar Implication) Following his excellent new album on Hotflush were very happy to have Jimmy Edgar on the remix with a club bomb that will likely be in our DJ sets for some time. Using a small selection of vocals from the original hes laced them rhythmically into a jacking deep groove with a classic 90s block organ and keys house vibe.
B1) These Days ft. Kevin Knapp (Sacha Robotti 2029 G.I.T.S. Remix) Sacha has delivered an epic score that could easily be the sound track to some kind of futuristic ballet. Sub basses, saw waves, atmospheric effects and eerie vocals all riding along a slick four-four drum track. B1) Audiojack - Night Watch (Original) A spooky deep house number with sleazy vocals and an evolving key loop that builds through breaks and drops into a deep growling bass line and disco style drums. A simple but effective track that has been staple to our DJ sets for a good few months now and doesnt seem to be getting tired.
B2) Audiojack - Plastic Dreams (20 Year Tribute) We remixed Jaydees original last year as something unique for our own DJ sets, however following big support from the likes of Seth Troxler and Art Department weve been inundated with hundreds of release requests, and as a result we started the process of trying to license it. When that failed we removed all original parts and painstakingly replicated them ourselves turning it into a cover, and hopefully a fitting 20 year tribute to this timeless classic.
