Known during maternal scoldings as Alan Dobson, ARCADION has become a staple of the DC Recordings roster alongside other such non-terrestrial beings as Emperor Machine and John Saul Kane’s Depth Charge. He is known for creating the kind of panty-dropping, bass driven, interstellar electro funk that would be a suitable soundtrack for Bootsy Collins on one of his regular trips into space, assuming he’s brought along a percussive orchestra of electro-loving field mice.
Brief but frequent sightings in the flickering neon lights of London have prompted followers and disbelievers alike to come to the conclusion that the monster has relocated to the capital, hellbent on spreading the less exploited sounds of go-go, boogie and freestyle to a new generation. Alongside his musical attributes, ARCADION also appears to be a shapeshifter, morphing into creative alter ego Hungry Ghost in the clink of a cowbell.
DC Recordings were eager to harness the awesome potential of ARCADION and managed to capture the resulting output on seminal EPs Ghost Feeder (Dec 2008) and Fly Vision (May 2009). On new album More Petrol, ARCADION has finally emerged from his cavernous secret studio, having exploited his masterful sonic tools to their limit and taken inspiration from the likes of Trouble Funk, Davy DMX, Mad Professor and Parliament.
