Repress! Having already appeared on Bristols Phuture Shock Musik, Appian heads up the first of this split 12 with two varied takes on minimal techno in a more modern context. Stuck In A Rut swings heavy but remains morose through its ominous pads and overall bleak attitude, barely lifted on the more dubby refrains of �Smoker�. Segv is making a debut appearance with this release, and steps up emboldened with an edgy techno done that calls to mind the recent Rrose output on �27.05.12.0700�. Perimeter meanwhile builds the drums up while positioning an implied police chase tension in between the crisp funk of the beats.
