“After years of seeming decline, it’s refreshing to see the cultural melting pot that is New York firmly back on the global electronic music scene but with the city’s crime rates dropping and a more liberal attitude to partying abounding once more, an invigorated crew of Dj’s and producers are now cropping up with increasing regularity. One such individual is Italian-cum-New Yorker Antonio Piacquadio. The EP is nonetheless sure to draw attention as a result of its remixes: both of which arrive courtesy from big-hitters from the techno/house hybrid. The first of these - from Cecille mainstay Butch – is typical of the Sankey’s resident, as he jettisons practically all else in favour of a catchy bassline and a smattering of luscious piano keys. In another coup for the label, Radio Slave then adds his own touch, performing a typical manoeuvre by taking no prisoners via his remix - a stirring concoction of subtle, ominous bells and sporadic, tight grooves.
