The new album of Analogik is inspired by the 70's funk music of Ethiopia and the way they did african versions of Western music. Analogik are now just doing the complete oposite. Analogik is a diverse band having worked on livetheater music in Copenhagen, doing jingles for kids television as well as the sound design for the first danish Nintendo Wii computer game Max & the magic marker. The diversity of the band is also easy to hear on the previois albums of Analogik and in their way of mixin ggenres - going all the way from gypsi music into hiphop, gameboy music, surf, jazz, cowboy-music and many other genres. Analogik was one of the first bands in Denmark to introduce polka-tronica and balkan-gypsi music into the electronic music scene, and they are also well-known for their single "the gypsi doodle", that became a bit of a hit within the electro-swing society all the way from Tokyo to London. Now the band is ready with a new album and this time they have left the eastern european inspiration. The new album of Analogik is inspired by the 70's funk music of Ethiopia and the way they did african versions of Western music. Analogik are now just doing the complete oposite. One of the biggest inspirations for this album has been ethiopean funk music from the 70's, including people such as Alemayehu Eshete as one of the biggest heros. He was among other things famous for interpreting western music, dressing up as Elvis, while singing as James Brown. He was somehow mixing up genres and expressions in a very similar to the work of Analogik. Now the long bearded fellows from Denmarkare just doing the complete oposite. The sound is groove music without any lyrics and long passages of bass/drum all spiced up with hypnotic brass riffs and syncopated beats. This all sounds very familar, just different - old, but new. The guys from analogik are very famous for their laidback and festive liveshows. Some of their greatest shows counts Fusion festival 2011, Glastonbury festival 2011 and Roskilde festival 2009.
