It's been quite a while since we released anything on vinyl round here. There's been the occasional EP for other labels of course, but Million Dollar Disco 12" singles feel like a long time ago now... It's good to be back! The first release in this new chapter sees Al Kent do what he does best; finding obscure disco music and flipping it to tease and please a dance-floor! "J'Adore" has been a staple of his DJ sets for quite a while now, and never fails to get the trainspotters scratching their heads and the dancers going wild. Disco doesn't really get much better than this - it's all there: strings, horns, killer bassline, breaks, percussion. Al's tweaked it some more for this release, but the hands in the air choruses that kill it every time are still there in all their glory! "Don't Stop" has been well and truly road tested over the last few months. Originally curious as to whether it would work or not, Al played it a few places, and quickly realised it did indeed, with great reactions on the dancefloor and requests from DJs for a copy whenever it's played. It's very simple, but the best things usually are: a vocal hook that builds and builds to a crescendo of strings and horns before starting all over again. This one will be instantly recognisable to the northern soul crew. "Down To Me" is even more simple in its approach, but with source material this good, it'd be hard to go wrong. It's little more than a groove, but the snappy drums, synths and of course Al's editing make it rock! Million Dollar Disco records are supported by a diverse range of DJs including Dimitri From Paris, Jerome Deradji, Greg Wilson, Nik Weston, Red Rack Em, Phil Asher and Craig Smith.
