The Adesse Versions project has previously given us superb re-edits, remixes and re-makes of tunes from Photek, Mikey Dread, Madonna and Vikter Duplaix. Here he once again mines the past, delivering dancefloor interpretations (available in Dub and vocal forms) of cuts from Japan and Massive Attack. The two versions of the former's tearjerker "Ghosts" stick to the feel of the original, turning them into moody, atmospheric, stretched out and dub-wise deep house cuts with serious dancefloor potential. Confusingly, "Protection" is actually a rework of "Sly", and sounds like a speeded-up version of Trevor Jackson's Underdog remix with added house swing and delay-laden vocal cuts. It's actually rather good, and impeccably executed as always.
